Property Profile

    Outstanding investment and working ranch about 2 1/2 hours west of Presidio. High rolling plains boardered by soaring desert mountains. This opportunity has been owned and managed by the same family for more than 3 generations. A profitable operation that will be sold with about 1000 head of quality Brangus stock and all equipment and tools to operate the ranch.

Terrain

    High rolling plains boardered by soaring desert mountains. A majority of the land has a gramma and native grass cover interspersed with various species of native brush typical of the High Chihauhauian Desert.

Location

    Rancho La Bamba is located about 2.5 hours West - Northwest from Presidio Texas and 40 miles North of the town of Coyame.

Access

    The ranch is accessed from a well maintained public road about 40 miles off of Federal Hwy 16.

Trees

    Cottonwood and mesquite are found scattered throughout the ranch.

Cover

    There are pockets of heavy native brush and high pastures that hold wild game.

Wildlife

    Mule deer, Coues Deer, Pronghorn, Blue Quail, Ducks, Dove, Auodad, Mountain Lion and a varity of small game.

Hunting

    This ranch has been operated strictly as a cattle operation and has been hunted for many years. There is abundant browse and water for the game and the boundries of the ranch are not developed, leaving excellent habitat.

Fencing

    The ranch is perimeter fenced and cross fenced with barbed wire into six divisions. The fence is in good condition. The ranch includes a portable pannel corral system that will accomidate 400 head of cattle at one time. This system is transported from pasture to pasture and can be set-up by 4 men in 30 minutes.

Water

    Pumps are powered by air cooled gasoline engines. These wells pump water in concrete storage tanks. In addition, there are 39 stock tanks found throughout the ranch. These impoundments are fed by run-off and vary in size from about 1/2 acre to about 5 acres in size.

Home Features

    Main ranchers house is a two bedroom and one bath, living room and personal kitchen. Also has a ranch managers quarters and hired-hand bunks, warehouses, storage, working pens, loading chutes, kitchen and bath house.

Improvements

    There is a comfortable owners home, two hired hand houses, warehouse, shop, office, kitchen and wash room, all of adobe construction. There are also working pens and corrals that are built of stacked stone.

    The majority of the ranch is a soft sandy loam

Ranching

    This is a high quality HIgh-Desert ranch that has excellent pasture. It currently carries and includes in the sale 550 Brangus cows 7- 9 years old, 400 Brangus 3-5 years old, and 200 Brangus heifers 2-3 years old, 45 Brangus bulls 6 years old, 16 Saddle horses, 45 horses, and 2 Studs (not included are this year's crop of Heifers and Steers which the new owners would round up and export to the US at the appropriate time). The Brangus bloodlines originate from Diamond A Ranch stock in Roswell New Mexico while the bulls are breed from Brinks 3M Cattle Company lines in Balmorhea Texas. Annual rainfall is abot 12 inches per year and the ranches carring capacity averages about one animal unit per 75 acres.
